Weaver II Version 2.0 Released

Weaver II Version 2.0 – Pro and Free – has been released.

Weaver II Version 2.0 Free is NO LONGER available for download from WordPress.org. If you are currently using Weaver II 1.3.8 or earlier, you will get an automatic update notice from WordPress.org. Important Note: Updating to Weaver II 2.0 Free will also require installing the Weaver II Theme Extras Version 2.0 plugin  to retain full compatibility. All shortcodes and some options have been moved into the plugin as required by WordPress.org theme rules.

Weaver II Version 2.0 Pro is NO LONGER available for download. Unlike the Free version, the Pro version retains all shortocode and other advanced functionality without the need for any plugins. You should be able to easily update to Weaver II Pro using the Save/Restore tab option to update the Weaver II theme.

Weaver II Free users should see little or no change in their site presentation.

Weaver II Pro users who had developed custom CSS rules for a wide header or a wide footer may have to re-work some of that code and take advantage of the new options for that feature.

Any users who developed customized CSS rules for the Horizontal Header Widget Area may have to tweak those rules as well as the Header Widget Area is now <div> based instead of <table> based.

Here is a summary of the changes in Weaver II 2.0:

Changes that may require tweaking existing CSS rules:

  • Weaver II Free users should see little or no change in their site presentation.
  • Weaver II Pro users who had developed custom CSS rules for a wide header or a wide footer may have to re-work some of that code and take advantage of the new options for that feature.
  • Any users who developed customized CSS rules for the Horizontal Header Widget Area may have to tweak those rules as well as the Header Widget Area is now <div> based instead of <table> based.
